BismillahirRahmanirRahim BismillahirRahmanirRahim Question: How do we worship Allah as He deserves to be worshiped? When I pray, I think of Allah but all I think of are the blessings He gave me. BismillahirRahmanirRahim. In the first place we can never worship Allah as He deserves to be worshiped. We can never do that. Only Allah (swt) knows Himself as He deserves to be known. Then after that is the Holy Prophet (asws),whatever that is given to him. And the Prophet (asws) is saying “Ya Rabbi, none can worship You as You deserved to be worshiped”. So we don’t look for that. What you are doing is good. You are looking at the blessings that Allah has given you. But, don’t be childish. Blessing is – ‘if I want something and I get it that is a blessing, if I want something and I don’t get it that is not a blessing’ – don’t be childish. That is a child’s idea, understanding of what Allah and His blessings are. Allah (swt) clearly saying no, “May be something that you like it is not good for you, may be something that you dislike it is good for you, If only you know”. Now we have to understand what is a blessing and what are we going use the blessing for? What is our reason for worshipping Allah (swt)? Before you reach that part try to know Allah (swt). And knowing yourself, it is key to knowing Allah (swt). Because, the one who knows himself he knows his Lord. When you just look at the blessings, as our Grand Sheykh is saying, ‘whatever that happened to you, because it happened it is a blessing.’ The believer, anything that happens to a believer it is a blessing. To reach to that understanding and to put that understanding into your everyday life, there is a very big knowledge there. Which is not to say you do something foolish and then wrong things happen, bad things happen, you say, ‘Yeah, it’s a blessing, MashaAllah”. You crash your car because you are trying to catch, what? trying to catch that sheytan (Sheykh mimicking someone playing a game on a mobile phone) , and you crash your car, you cannot say “Ah! It’s a blessing, everything is a blessing coming”. That is a lazy understanding. If he didn’t die, maybe that’s a blessing. But you don’t need to go through so much hardship to know certain things. You don’t need to. If we only sit and we think, then the understanding comes much easier. If we sit and we think and we look at our own daily lives even the small things that happening to us and we connect it, big wisdom is going to come to us. Love those whom Allah loves and leave those whom Allah leaves. That time we are closer to doing something for the sake of Allah. WaminAllahu Taufiq. Al Fateha. Amin.
