Listen To Those Who Have Earned The Right To Be Heard

People are also saying, ‘stop brainwashing the young ones. Because you are young and you are saying those things.’ Of course they accuse me of brainwashing them, ‘brainwashing them to become your slaves,’ they say. Make them to become the slaves of Allah. We are saying to them, ‘be my guest.’ You think you can do a better job, take them. I don’t want them.

You think that you can hold their heart and make them to love you at the same time, to fear you and to love you at the same time? Be my guest. If your children are coming, that is showing that you have no love for them and they don’t have the proper love for you. You are not able to hold them. Because when they are growing, they need something else. When you are a baby, you only eat baby food, correct? Can you eat baby food when you are sixteen years old? You cannot. In fact, you are going to eat nice things. Twenty years old, thirty years old, then later you reach thirty, forty years old, then you realize, ‘I must also change my food. What I want to eat, what’s good for me it’s not enough anymore. I have to eat things that are healthy.’ So you are not able to give them.

When they are young you are able to give them that kind of understanding, that kind of spirituality. Later they need something else. Those who are trying very hard to stop, it doesn’t work. They are forcing them. It doesn’t work. Same accusation they made to the Holy Prophet (asws). They are saying, ‘you are brainwashing, you are putting witchcraft on our young ones so that they follow you. You are a cult, you are this and you are that.’ The Prophet (asws) is always saying, ‘take them if you want.’ In fact there was a treaty that he signed and he says, ‘everyone who is young and everyone who came later,’ I don’t want to get into the details of that, he says, ‘all the young ones, go back to your parents.’ They are crying, they are begging the Prophet, saying, ‘we cannot go back to our parents. They are not believing. They don’t live the right lifestyle, da..da..da..’ He says, ‘under the contract, you must go.’ So they left the Prophet (asws) and they just became one group and they stay in between their parents and the Prophet, and that time they became such a big headache to their parents, such a big troublemaker to their parents that their parents say, ‘please Prophet take them back. Because at least when they were with you they listen to you.’

So how are you going to have taqwa? You practice. You watch yourself and you pull back. It is not just you trying to do it. When other people are saying to you and they are saying to you, something that is true or not? It is true. You take it. You don’t try to be slick, you don’t try to reject it, you don’t try to be funny, you take it. You did it. Don’t offer any excuse. Say, ‘you are right. EyAllah. I am wrong. Pray for me that I can fix myself.’ And you try to fix. Do you understand? Because there are some people too, they listen to their guides, they listen to Sheykh Effendi, only him. Nobody else. Do you understand? No. It does not work like that. You have to listen especially to those ones who have authority, those ones who have some wisdom, that they are going to help you, then it’s easy for you to understand. InsyaAllah, it will be easy. WaminAllahu Taufiq, Al-Fatiha.
